Vendor/Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical assessments for new suppliers and periodic assessments for key existing suppliers
• Drive suppliers regularly on improvement plans and foster an environment that facilitates continual improvement and compliance to AEM requirements
• Review specifications to validate material defects for return to supplier and ensure timely replacement by supplier
• Apply 8D and other applicable quality tools with suppliers to ensure implementation of effective systemic corrective / preventive actions and no recurrence
• Work with supplier and Engineering / Manufacturing to reach common acceptance of path forward for material issues that are not entirely due to supplier fault
• Maintain a supplier database and their performance evaluation / scoring to facilitate supply chain management
• Provide guidance to Incoming quality inspectors on inspection process and methods

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics )
• At least 2 years in the area of Supplier Quality
• Experience / knowledge with mechanical parts or PCBA. Preferably both
• Knowledge of problem solving skills and familiar with quality tools such as 8D, Pareto Analysis, 5 Whys, FMEA, quality control plan, etc.
• Good communication skills
• Eager to learn, independent, takes initiatives, and able to work with minimum supervision
• Able to work with diverse cultures
