ArcGIS Associate Engineer

Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that the company's digital network maps accurately reflect the physical telecommunications infrastructure that has been built
- Complete GIS updates according to project schedules and deadlines.
- Utilize the GIS system and company portal to update parameters for cables, joint closures, pipes, and ducts routing per as-built drawings.
- Understand cable connectivity concepts and pipe test reports, updating related information in the GIS system
- Ensure all updates adhere to established drafting standards, including formatting, naming conventions, layering, and title block information
- Ensure that all GIS updates are accurately reflected and aligned across all relevant downstream systems and platforms.
- Take ownership of end-to-end data consistency across systems, including initiating, tracking, and verifying update processes
- Coordinate with stakeholders and system owners to ensure timely and accurate updates across all systems
- Investigate and resolve data mismatches, perform analysis, and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence
Requirements:
- Experience in GIS software (commonly Esri ArcGIS, Smallworld, QGIS, or similar)
- Understanding of telecom fibre network topology
- Ability to read engineering or CAD drawings
- Knowledge of fibre optic infrastructure (cables, ducts, joint closures, manholes)
- Microsoft Excel
- Travelling onsite needed
