We are seeking an experienced individual to join us as Regional Trade Marketing, Team Lead. This role operates within a matrix organization, reporting directly to the Director, Head of Commercial Marketing Sector, APAC and functionally working closely with Sales, Trade Marketing & Marketing divisions at the headquarter & close collaboration with the distributors.
Job Summary
We are seeking a Regional Trade Marketing Team Leader, SEA/APAC to drive brand penetration and sales growth across SEA by developing and executing channel marketing strategies and shopper-focused activation plans, with a special focus on improving execution in Modern Trade (MT) and building presence and relevance in General Trade (GT). This role will work closely with Sales, Distributors, and Brand/Communication to ensure excellent in-store execution, effective trade promotions, and locally relevant shopper marketing programs that deliver conversion at the point of purchase. Lead &develop talents and elevate organization trade marketing capabilities from strategy development, process refinement & plan execution.
Responsibilities
(1) Channel Strategy & Planning of Noodle, Sauce, Snack Categories:
- Develop and maintain channel marketing plans for MT and GT across priority markets.
- Translate brand strategy and campaigns into tailored channel execution plans.
- Segment channels/customers and prioritize initiatives to drive growth.
- Align plans with sales teams and distributors for joint business planning.
(2) Shopper Marketing Activation & In-Store Execution Excellence:
- Design and deliver shopper marketing programs that drive trial, conversion and increase basket size.
- Develop regionally adaptable toolkits (POSM, planograms, promotional mechanics) to support in-store execution.
- Work with local teams to localize shopper programs based on outlet type, shopper missions, and cultural relevance.
- Drive best-in-class execution of in-store presence across all channels and priority markets.
(3) Promotion & Activation Planning:
- Plan and evaluate shopper promotions by channel, season, or campaign.
- Test and recommend winning promo mechanics and bundling strategies.
- Monitor ROI of trade promotions and provide improvement recommendations.
(4) Shoppers' insights :
- Work with Market Insights team (MI) to develop for shopper insights & behavioural difference across different channels thus derive into constructive trade marketing strategies to address different shoppers' behaviours across different channels.
(5) Look of Success Champion:
- Guardian of look of success for Samyang range of brands for Assortment, Merchandising, Pricing, Promotion, Shelf (AMPPS).
- Lead the strategy & execution of AMPPS.
- Ensure brand consistency across markets & channels.
(6) Team Management:
- Coach & develop marketing talents in regional& local offices to elevate organization trade marketing capabilities & process improvements.
Requirements:
- 12+ years of experience in shopper marketing, channel/trade marketing, or customer marketing roles within FMCG or consumer goods.
- Experience working in the SEA headquarters of an FMCG multinational company
- Strong understanding of shopper behavior, retail dynamics, and trade marketing.
- Analytical with the ability to interpret market and sales data.
- Excellent planning, execution, and project management skills.
- Collaborative and able to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders in a start-up environment.
- Proficiency in Korean is valuable.
