The Beginning Pre-school Teacher creates a secure, trusting learning environment that supports children's holistic development through a culturally appropriate curriculum and strong partnerships with families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with children to create a secure and positive learning environment
• Support children's holistic development by implementing a progressive, culturally appropriate curriculum
• Follow health, safety, nutritional, and hygiene standards to ensure children's well-being
• Guide children's social and emotional growth and build their confidence
• Impart core early childhood education values through events and activities
• Foster trust and respect in relationships with children and families
• Review and adapt teaching and learning approaches aligned with Curriculum Frameworks
• Establish and maintain effective home-centre partnerships to support children's learning
• Create and maintain quality learning environments that engage children
• Demonstrate understanding of the centre's vision, mission, and values in daily practice
• Exhibit ethics and professionalism in all interactions and responsibilities
• Participate actively in centre initiatives, programmes, and collaborative projects involving the school community
• Engage in continuous learning and reflective practices to improve teaching effectiveness
• Collaborate with colleagues to foster positive workplace relationships and teamwork
• Understand the developmental and learning needs of children from birth to age 8
• Use classroom management techniques and document children's learning progress accurately
