KST Maritime is looking for motivated and hardworking individuals to join our tug operations team as Local Tug Assistants .
Prior tugboat or seagoing experience is preferred but not essential . Candidates without maritime experience who are keen to work at sea and build a career in the maritime industry are welcome to apply.
If you are willing to learn, enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable working aspart of a small onboard team, we would like to hear from you.
What You Will Do
As a Local Tug Assistant, you will work closely with the Tug Master and other crewmembers to support the safe and smooth operation of the tug.
Your duties will include:
- Assist with mooring and unmooring operations during berthing and unberthing.
- Handle ropes, lines and other deck equipment safely.
- Maintain a proper lookout and report any hazards or unusual conditions.
- Assist the Tug Master and crew during daily tug operations.
- Assist with basic checks and upkeep of deck equipment.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the tug.
- Participate in onboard safety drills and emergency response activities.
- Follow Company safety procedures and instructions from the Tug Master.
- Assist with other onboard duties as required.
Who We Are Looking For
- GCE N Levels, Nitec/Higher Nitec qualifications
- Prior tugboat or seagoing experience is preferred, but not essential .
- Candidates with no maritime experience are welcome to apply.
- Keen to work onboard a tug and build a career in the maritime industry.
- Willing to learn and undergo the necessary training.
- Physically fit and comfortable with hands-on work.
- Safety-conscious, responsible and reliable.
- Able to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
- Willing to work on a rotational shift arrangement.
