Postdoctoral fellowship position in single-cell transcriptomics at Merck's Singapore research facility. The role focuses on target and biomarker discovery through integrated experimental and analytical work in a multiomic sciences team.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute loss-of-function and gain-of-function perturbation studies in cellular disease models
- Develop, optimize, and implement high-throughput single-cell RNA-seq workflows for perturbation studies
- Partner with data scientists and multiomics technologists to analyze and interpret omics datasets
- Develop analytical strategies to identify disease mechanisms, therapeutic targets, and biomarker hypotheses
- Communicate research findings through publications, presentations, and conference contributions
Requirements
- Ph.D. in cancer biology, molecular biology, cell biology, functional genomics, or related field
- Published research record in peer-reviewed journals and/or scientific conference presentations
- Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular techniques including qRT-PCR and Western blotting
- Practical knowledge of functional perturbation methods such as RNAi and CRISPR approaches
- Familiarity with transcriptomics workflows including bulk and single-cell RNA-seq data interpretation
- Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills with ability to work independently and collaboratively
