Restaurant & Shop Manager

On behalf of one of its clients operating in the Food & Beverage sector, the French Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Restaurant & Retail Operations Manager (6-months contract) .
This position is ideal for an experienced hospitality professional with a strong operational background in F&B, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of the restaurant and retail outlet, lead a small multidisciplinary team, and work closely with senior stakeholders based in Europe to drive operational excellence and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Operations & Team Management
Oversee the daily operations of the restaurant and retail shop, ensuring consistently high standards of service, food quality, and customer satisfaction.
Lead, coach, and support a team of fewer than 10 employees across kitchen, front-of-house, and retail functions.
Plan staff schedules and oversee employment contracts to ensure efficient workforce management.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and local authorities.
Resolve customer concerns professionally and use feedback to continuously improve products and services.
Recruit, onboard, train, and develop team members while fostering a collaborative, respectful, and performance-driven work environment.
- Commercial & Financial Management
Develop initiatives to increase sales and maximise revenue opportunities.
Monitor daily financial performance and ensure efficient cost management to achieve profitability targets.
Manage supplier relationships and optimise purchasing processes.
Prepare monthly operational and financial reports, providing regular business updates to headquarters and senior management.
- Business Growth & Marketing
Identify and implement new commercial ideas to enhance the customer experience and support business growth.
Keep up to date with market trends and customer preferences to maintain the brand's competitive positioning.
Support the planning and execution of marketing, promotional, and brand visibility initiatives.
Requirements
- Solid experience managing operations within the Food & Beverage industry, including both kitchen and front-of-house environments.
- Previous exposure to retail or wholesale operations is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing teams.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance customer satisfaction and financial performance.
- Experience preparing business reports and working with senior leadership teams.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative management style.
- Adaptable, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement.
- Fluent in English; additional local language skills are an advantage.
