WSH Officer cum Environmental Control Officer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced WSH Officer to manage workplace safety, health, quality, and environmental compliance across building construction projects. The role will work closely with project teams, subcontractors, EHS personnel, and regulatory authorities to maintain safe work practices and strengthen the company's QEHS performance.

Job Scope

• Implement and maintain the company's WSH Management System, Environmental Management System, and project safety plans.

• Conduct regular site inspections, QEHS meetings, internal audits, and compliance reviews.

• Identify unsafe practices and non-compliance, recommend corrective actions, and follow up until closure.

• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and quality or environmental non-conformances.

• Review risk assessments, safe work procedures, method statements, and statutory training requirements.

• Conduct safety induction, training, campaigns, and briefings for employees, workers, and subcontractors.

• Monitor subcontractors' QEHS performance and ensure adequate safety resources are provided at site.

• Maintain inspection records, incident reports, audit documents, training records, and monthly QEHS reports.

• Coordinate CONSASS assessments and support ISO 14001, ISO 45001, WSHMS, and bizSAFE requirements.

• Liaise with MOM, WSH Council, clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other relevant stakeholders on QEHS matters.

• Guide WSH Coordinators and subcontractor safety personnel in carrying out their site responsibilities.

• Support tender submissions and project presentations involving quality, environmental, health, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• Specialist Diploma, Advanced Certificate, or an equivalent recognised qualification in Workplace Safety and Health.

• Valid registration as a Workplace Safety and Health Officer with MOM.

• Minimum 3 years of relevant WSH experience, including at least 2 years at construction sites.

• Experience working with a main contractor on building construction projects is preferred.

• Familiar with the WSH Act, subsidiary legislation, WSHMS, risk management, and construction safety requirements.

• Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, bizSAFE, and CONSASS requirements is advantageous.

• Familiar with construction activities and safety requirements across different site trades.

• Strong leadership, communication, investigation, reporting, and stakeholder-management skills.
