Assistant Procurement Manager (Chemical MNC) - VTAL

Our client is a Chemical Manufacturing MNC. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Assistant Procurement Manager to be part of their Procurement Team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the West - easily accessible (Company Transportation Provided)
Duties of Assistant Procurement Manager:
Purchasing & Sourcing
Manage day-to-day purchasing activities, including sourcing, quotation comparison, purchase orders, and order follow-up.
Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, lead time, service, and reliability.
Obtain competitive quotations and support price negotiations to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
Monitor market conditions, material prices, and supplier developments to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Supplier Management
Monitor supplier performance in terms of pricing, quality, delivery, service, and compliance.
Conduct supplier evaluations and follow up on performance issues or corrective actions when required.
Coordinate with suppliers on product specifications, delivery schedules, quality issues, and other purchasing matters.
Supply & Inventory Coordination
Coordinate with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements and ensure timely availability of materials.
Monitor stock levels, purchase requirements, and delivery schedules to support uninterrupted operations.
Follow up closely with suppliers on outstanding orders, delivery delays, and supply issues.
Cost & Process Improvement
Support cost reduction and cost optimization initiatives through effective sourcing and supplier negotiations.
Analyze purchasing data, supplier pricing, and spending trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure purchase orders, quotations, contracts, supplier records, and other purchasing documents are properly maintained.
Sustainability & Supplier Compliance
Support responsible sourcing practices and supplier compliance with company standards.
Requirements:
- Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 5 years' relevant experience in procurement, purchasing and administration, preferably in Chemical Industry
- Strong experience in supplier sourcing, negotiation, cost control and vendor management
