The role is for a research fellow to conduct experimental research in quantum optics, nanophotonics, and light-matter interaction at EEE/NTU.
The researcher will study and control collective and single-emitter light-matter interactions in advanced photonic structures, contributing to fundamental quantum science and future quantum technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, set up, conduct, and analyse experiments in quantum optics, nanophotonics, and light-matter interaction.
Develop and operate single-photon spectroscopy, Hanbury Brown-Twiss (HBT), Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM), and related optical spectroscopy measurements.
Investigate collective quantum optical effects enabled by nanophotonic platforms, including superradiance, superfluorescence, and quantum imaging.
Study strong light-matter interaction in the single-emitter regime and optical spectroscopy of nanoscale systems with embedded quantum emitters.
Characterise photonic structures and quantum-emitter systems, maintain rigorous experimental records, and ensure safe laboratory practice.
Collaborate with EEE/NTU researchers and project partners; contribute to publications, presentations, reports, and research proposals.
Support mentoring and training of students and junior researchers in relevant experimental techniques.
Requirements
PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Photonics, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
Strong experimental experience in quantum optics, single-photon spectroscopy, HBT, HOM, and optical spectroscopy of nanoscale quantum-emitter systems.
Experience with nanophotonic platforms, quantum emitters, and light-matter interaction is desirable.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and scientific communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an interdisciplinary research environment.
