Backend Developer

- Design, develop and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services and APIs.
- Design and implement scalable microservices and distributed system architectures.
- Develop integration components connecting upstream and downstream systems, devices, and data sources.
- Manage and optimise relational and NoSQL databases, including schema design, query performance, and data integrity.
- Develop data processing, transformation, and analytics services to support business and system requirements.
- Implement application monitoring, logging, and observability capabilities to ensure system reliability and effective troubleshooting.
- Diagnose and resolve backend application, system integration, performance, and production issues.
- Implement authentication, authorisation, and secure coding best practices across backend applications.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, data teams, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Support testing,deployment, CI/CD and production operations while maintaining clean, well-documented, testable code and participating in Agile development activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience in backend software development and building enterprise-grade applications,with strong proficiency in Python, Node.js, or Java.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs, microservices, backend integrations, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including query optimisation and data integrity management.
- Experience developing and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS, with familiarity in Docker and Kubernetes.
- Good knowledge of software design patterns, enterprise application architecture, secure coding, GitLab, CI/CD and Agile practices, with strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
