Staff Specialist, FI Tax

Responsibilities

• Preparation and submission of direct & indirect tax returns for the ams OSRAM group's Singapore entities, in particular, corporate tax, withholding tax, GST and other taxes
• Provide support in handling tax related queries raised by internal business counterparts, external auditors and external government authority, such as IRAS and EDB, including communicating with the counter parties, technical analysis, information gathering, preparation and submission of replies.
• Tax accounting related work including preparation of annual tax forecasts, calculation of current tax and deferred tax, safe harbour assessment under Pillar 2 for accounting period end, return-to-provision true-up, proposing accounting entries, review of tax booking voucher and tax disclosure note for audited report.
• Provide support to special projects on an ad-hoc basis, including tax planning, tax advisory, tax improvement projects, tax deregistration, restructuring and M&A projects.
• Provide support on transfer pricing management, including review of local transfer pricing documentations, provide inputs in preparation of segmental P&L, monitoring profit level and proposing pricing adjustment
• Collaborating with inhouse finance personnel, other business units and external tax agents to compile, analyse and provide the required information for tax returns, incentives updates and Major Exporter Scheme renewal.
• Manage and handle tax incentives and manufacturing license conditions in Singapore including liaise with external auditors and government authority for compliance of incentive conditions and direct management attention on exception and propose solutions.
• Collaborating with different stakeholder to compile required information for application, maintenance and revocation of tax incentive in Singapore, Where applicable
• Review and identify room for improvement and proposing ideas for the continuous optimalization of tax policies, procedures and processes

Requirement:

• Keep abreast of new developments in local and regional tax laws that may affect the Group's tax position
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance related disciplines
• Minimum 4 years working experience as a tax expert in Big 4 accounting firms and/or multinational commercials
• Solid knowledge and extensive experiences in Singapore tax matters, including dealing with Singapore tax authorities
• Knowledge in tax accounting and transfer pricing topic is an advantage
• Knowledge in the tax regime of other Asia Pacific countries is an advantage
• Qualified Accountant of one of the recognized professional accounting bodies
