Senior Director

Position Summary:

The Senior Director is accountable for leading the Royal Caribbean business across Singapore, South& North APAC (excluding China/Hong Kong & Australia). This role provides end-to-end leadership of all aspects of the Royal Caribbean Operations related to Achieving Corporate KPI for the region, Commercial Strategy, Business Development, Consumer Insights, Government Relations, Port & Private Island Development, Product Development. Responsibilities include building the strategy to maximize the growth in the region to achieve the overall revenue & passenger targets in the most profitable way while managing the full P&L to maximize ROI and minimize Acquisition costs. This role carries a transformation mandate to elevate leadership capability by building a high-performing organization through coaching, mentoring, and structured capability development.

This role provides overall leadership of the Singapore office, overseeing all core functions including Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, PR, and Deployment. In addition to delivering global sourcing & revenue targets for Royal Caribbean products, the Senior Director is also accountable for the performance of the Singapore homeport business. This includes close collaboration with global teams in Miami and shipboard leadership to influence product development across existing fleets, new builds & drydock enhancements as well as itinerary planning and port development, (including scouting & developing new ports, hotel operations, guest experience, onboard revenue & maximizing NPS scores and direct responsibility for pricing, promotion, revenue management and working with markets across the globe to source the homeport product to maximize profit.) This position reports to the President of Greater China supporting the broader objective of optimizing regional growth and opportunities.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the Development of a long-term strategic plan for the region and develop resource support &structure to build for the future.

• Provide vision, create culture, set expectations & lead the employees of the Singapore office who’s functions cover Sales, Marketing, PR, Revenue Management, Business Intelligence, Call Center & Ops Support, HR, Finance, IT, Port Ops, Government Relations delivering strong Pulse Survey improvements.

• Skillfully work across the cultures of the multiple countries in the region to maximize growth in the region across government, trade distribution, brand positioning and public relation/media.

• Develop a strong Rest of World (ROW) mindset to compliment the strong homeport agenda.

• Assess whether the previous decision to disband IR models has been successful and consider alternative operating models if appropriate.

• Create the annual go-to-the-market plan to deliver the guest & revenue targets via the most profitable distribution channel while positioning Royal Caribbean as a brand leader in the region.

• Develop distribution channel & market strategy to maximize profits across the trade, IR and direct channels across the multiple countries in the region with emphasis on growing direct via e-Commerce, digital and CRM.

• Identify new markets and growth opportunities in the region which could mean opening new markets.

• Tactical oversight of pricing, promotion, marketing and sales activities to ensure weekly track targets are achieved, take corrective actions to mitigate risk and maximize opportunities.

• Liaison with homeport shipboard team to provide consumer insight & booking trends to optimize onboard experience for target audience to drive high onboard revenue and high net promoter scores.

• Alongside Government relations support discussions with senior government officials across all countries to influence improved policy, infrastructure investment, process, provisioning/procurement, financial support in marketing funds or tax relief to support cruise growth.

• Drive & Partner with global commercial development & port operation teams to identify, prioritize and monitor project priorities such as port infrastructure upgrades, new port development, scouting & developing Perfect Day Island for Southeast Asia and sit on board of director for regional joint ventures.

• Spokesperson for regional media interviews, keynote presentations, expert panel discussions across trade, consumer and channels on a spectrum of topics including tourism benefits, environment & safety, brand updates, and strategic outlook.

• Lead overall office engagement, culture and training initiatives that range from weekly staff meetings, monthly office all hands updates, quarterly team building &training initiatives.

• Leadership role in APAC Board Committee comprised of Singapore, China & Australia leadership focused on optimizing opportunities for the region. Also liaise with counterparts across the globe to share best practices and integrate global corporate programs.

• Other ad-hoc projects as required.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

• Minimum 10 years of experience within a multinational organization, including senior leadership exposure.

• Strong commercial and strategic acumen with the ability to translate business priorities into actionable outcomes.

• Proven ability to manage multiple functions, priorities and resources within a complex, matrixed environment.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the organization.

• Demonstrated leadership capability, with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach to driving cross-functional alignment.

• Experience working across diverse markets, with astrong understanding of cultural nuances and sensitivities.

• Proven track record in leading leadership development, coaching, and succession planning initiatives.

• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to balance strategic thinking and operational execution.

• Willingness to travel internationally (up to 40%)
