Job Description

Thermectech Pte Ltd is an established engineering service company specialising in the maintenance, repair, installation and technical support of commercial kitchen equipment across Singapore.

We are seeking a highly experienced, technically competent and results-driven Service Manager to lead our service operations, supervise technical teams and ensure the efficient delivery of preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs and emergency services.

The successful candidate must possess strong hands-on technical expertise, proven leadership experience and the ability to independently manage complex service operations within the commercial kitchen equipment industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily service operations, including technician deployment, job scheduling, manpower planning and service coordination.

• Oversee preventive maintenance contracts, corrective maintenance and emergency breakdown services across multiple customer sites.

• Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting and guidance for complex electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, gas and cooking equipment failures.

• Supervise, train and evaluate technicians to maintain high technical competency, productivity and service quality.

• Manage customer service requests, technical escalations and complaints, ensuring prompt response and effective resolution.

• Maintain 24-hour on-call availability for critical technical emergencies, including weekends and public holidays, according to operational requirements.

• Ensure hotline complaints and urgent service requests are acknowledged within one hour .

• Review technical diagnoses, service reports, repair recommendations and maintenance documentation for accuracy and completeness.

• Coordinate with equipment manufacturers, suppliers and customers on technical matters, spare parts and repair solutions.

• Monitor service performance, technician productivity, response times, repeat breakdowns and maintenance contract fulfilment.

• Ensure compliance with Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements and company safety procedures.

• Implement continuous improvements in service efficiency, technical standards, manpower utilisation and customer satisfaction.

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum 12 years of hands-on technical experience in commercial kitchen equipment servicing, maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Minimum 6 years of supervisory or service management experience leading technical service teams.

• Proven ability to independently manage multiple service teams, customer sites and maintenance contracts.

• Strong practical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, gas and commercial cooking equipment systems.

• Ability to interpret electrical wiring diagrams, refrigeration schematics, technical manuals and mechanical drawings.

• Demonstrated experience diagnosing complex equipment failures and providing effective technical solutions.

• Strong leadership, organisational, decision-making and customer management skills.

• Possess a valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence .

• Willingness to undertake emergency standby and after-hours technical support when required.

Essential Technical Competencies

Candidates must demonstrate practical servicing and troubleshooting experience across a broad range of commercial kitchen equipment, including:

• Commercial combi ovens and industrial cooking appliances

• Commercial dishwashers and warewashing systems

• Walk-in chillers, freezers, blast chillers and refrigeration systems

• Gas cooking appliances and associated control systems

• Electrical cooking equipment and heating systems

• Steam cooking equipment and boilers

• Commercial food preparation and processing equipment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting hotels, hospitals, central kitchens, institutional kitchens and large-scale food service operations.

• Experience working with international commercial kitchen equipment manufacturers.

• Knowledge of preventive maintenance contract management, service reporting and technical compliance requirements.

• Ability to develop technicians, improve first-time repair success rates and reduce repeat breakdowns.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a hands-on technical leader, not solely an administrative manager .

The ideal candidate must be capable of independently diagnosing equipment failures, guiding technicians through challenging repairs, managing urgent customer requirements and taking full responsibility for daily service operations.

Applicants must have substantial, directly relevant commercial kitchen equipment service experience. General facilities management or administrative supervisory experience alone will not be sufficient.
