WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
An accomplished Associate Director, Data Consultancy to lead a portfolio of strategic client relationships across Southeast Asia. This role is responsible for driving senior client partnerships, shaping data-led growth strategies, and ensuring high-quality delivery across complex consultancy engagements spanning local, regional, and global stakeholders.
The ideal candidate brings the seniority and judgment to operate with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. They are able to assess priorities quickly, balance business impact with client needs, make sound decisions in ambiguity, and influence stakeholders at all levels to move work forward effectively.
What you’ll be doing on any given day
Client leadership & stakeholder management
- Serve as the senior strategic lead across a portfolio of key data consultancy accounts.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a confident advisor on data, measurement, martech, analytics, and activation strategy.
- Anticipate risks, competing demands, and delivery challenges early, and proactively reprioritise or escalate as appropriate.
Strategic consultancy & delivery leadership
- Oversee the successful delivery of complex consultancy projects across advanced analytics, business intelligence, martech, and data science.
- Bring structure to ambiguity by defining priorities, decision paths, and delivery plans across multiple workstreams.
- Support the spread of the Data Consultancy knowledge across the company at regional level
Examples of project areas may include:
- Advanced Analytics: GA4 implementation, Floodlight strategy
- Business Intelligence: dashboarding, visualisation, BigQuery projects
- MarTech: GMP onboarding, CDP selection and implementation
- Data Science: predictive analysis, attribution, marketing mix modelling, incrementality testing
- Revenue growth
- Lead/ Support new business pitches when required
- Identify opportunities to expand Assembly’s data consultancy services and convert them into well-defined proposals, scopes, and commercial plans.
- Keep abreast of channel and product updates within the agency, ensuring these are communicated to the client where appropriate.
- Contribute to the overall growth of the Data Consultancy practice by sharing knowledge, improving ways of working, and raising the maturity of the function regionally.
Does this sound like you?
- Minimum 8 years of experience in technical data delivery and account management, preferably in consultancy and analytical roles
- Fluent English communication, verbal and written. A second South East Asian language is a plus.
- Strong experience leading senior client relationships and complex consultancy engagements across Southeast Asia.
- Numerical and analytical with experience working with data specialists
- Excellent understanding of main digital channels and data platforms/ecosystem, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Cloud, Tableau, PPC, Display, Programmatic, Paid Social etc
- Demonstrable experience in managing data projects, experience in working with developers and technical specialists
- Understands SEA market nuances to adapt and localise global and regional strategies
- Proven ability to manage ambiguity, evaluate priorities independently, and make sound commercial and operational decisions in fast-moving environments.
- Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and leading conversations with authority, credibility, and tact.
- Experience overseeing complex data and technical projects, with the ability to work effectively with specialists across analytics, engineering, product, and media.
- SQL knowledge is a plus.
