## Job Summary
The DeltaV / PROFINET Loop Check Engineer is responsible for performing instrument loop checks, commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation of field instrumentation integrated with the Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) and PROFINET industrial communication network. The role ensures that all control loops and field devices are installed, configured, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, engineering standards, and safety requirements.
## Key Responsibilities
- Perform instrument loop checking and functional testing for analog and digital I/O.
- Verify wiring, termination, cable continuity, and signal integrity between field instruments, marshalling cabinets, remote I/O, and DeltaV I/O.
- Commission and troubleshoot PROFINET-enabled devices, remote I/O systems, and network communications.
- Verify PROFINET network configuration, device naming, IP addressing, communication status, and diagnostics.
- Validate instrument calibration and confirm proper operation of transmitters, control valves, analyzers, switches, and actuators.
- Configure and verify DeltaV control modules, graphics, alarms, and operator displays as required.
- Coordinate with instrumentation, electrical, automation, and process teams during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
- Diagnose and resolve communication, hardware, and configuration issues related to DeltaV and PROFINET systems.
- Execute Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning procedures, startup activities, and performance testing.
- Record loop check results, punch list items, and commissioning documentation.
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards, HSE requirements, and applicable industry standards.
## Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in DeltaV DCS commissioning and loop checking.
- Hands-on experience with PROFINET industrial Ethernet networks and field device integration.
- Strong knowledge of field instrumentation, remote I/O systems, control valves, analyzers, and industrial process control.
- Ability to interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, network architecture, and wiring diagrams.
- Familiarity with commissioning documentation, FAT, SAT, and startup procedures.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
## Preferred Experience
- Experience in oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, or power generation projects.
- Knowledge of Ethernet-based industrial communication protocols and network diagnostics.
- Familiarity with Emerson DeltaV Ethernet I/O and PROFINET integration.
- Experience with brownfield upgrades and greenfield commissioning projects.
