SharePoint SSE Infrastructure Consultant

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SharePoint SSE Infrastructure Consultant to design, implement, and support enterprise-grade SharePoint Subscription Edition (SSE) environments across on-premises and AWS platforms.

This role focuses on high availability architecture, infrastructure operations, security hardening, authentication troubleshooting, performance optimization, and platform stability. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SharePoint infrastructure, Windows Server administration, SQL clustering, Kerberos authentication, and enterprise security practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain SharePoint Subscription Edition (SSE) farms with high availability, security, and scalability considerations.
• Provision and manage SharePoint farm roles including Web Front End (WFE), Application Servers, Search Servers, Index Servers, and Office Online Server (OOS).
• Configure and maintain SQL Server Failover Cluster Instance (FCI) environments, including failover testing, quorum configuration, and storage coordination.
• Implement, troubleshoot, and optimize Kerberos authentication, including SPNs, constrained delegation, and double-hop authentication scenarios.
• Perform SharePoint performance and load testing using WAPT, including baseline analysis, bottleneck identification, and tuning recommendations.
• Apply infrastructure and application hardening aligned with CIS Benchmarks across Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server, and SharePoint environments.
• Integrate and support enterprise monitoring and alerting solutions including Splunk logging and SMTP relay services.
• Deploy and manage SharePoint environments across AWS and on-premises infrastructure.
• Configure and support load balancing solutions, SSL/TLS certificates, certificate renewals, cipher configurations, and TLS posture management.
• Develop operational documentation, runbooks, remediation tracking, and audit-ready infrastructure reports.
• Support incident management, root cause analysis, patch management, and platform optimization activities.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint Subscription Edition (SSE) infrastructure architecture and administration.
• Expertise in SharePoint farm deployment, patching, backup, restore, and capacity planning.
• Solid understanding of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, service accounts, and certificate management.
• Strong knowledge of IIS administration and troubleshooting for SharePoint environments.
• Experience with SQL Server Failover Clustering and Windows Failover Clustering concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting capabilities in Kerberos authentication and enterprise identity flows.
• Knowledge of CIS Benchmark-based hardening and security compliance practices.
• Experience with performance testing methodologies and load testing tools such as WAPT.
• Familiarity with Splunk monitoring, alerting, dashboard creation, and observability concepts.
• Experience supporting AWS-hosted enterprise infrastructure including EC2, networking, security groups, and load balancing.
• Strong understanding of SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management and enterprise security standards.
• Good documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting hybrid cloud infrastructure environments.
• Exposure to enterprise ITSM, operational governance, and audit processes.
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and business continuity operations.
• Experience working in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments.
