Education required: Undergraduate studying a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemistry

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a full-time credit-bearing internship

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

What will you do?

As a manufacturing intern, you will work alongside experienced engineers to implement and optimize manufacturing and cleaning processes in the plant, improving product yield and reducing waste in the production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs). You will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of manufacturing technologies (such as traditional batch processes as well as the latest best-in-class continuous manufacturing technology) and gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving. Join us in Value Stream 3 and take the first step towards a holistic internship experience!

What will you learn?

• Implementing and optimizing the production and changeover operations for APIs

• Assist Engineers in day-to-day production activities via troubleshooting and problem-solving (e.g. Investigation of process anomalies with the use of technologies such as Aspen Process Explorer to analyse process trends and on-site survey)

• Close collaboration with the manufacturing technicians and other departments including MSAT, Technical Operations or Quality team

• Learning Good Manufacturing Practices and adopting Good Documentation Practices with Data Integrity

• Leading improvement initiatives with the usage of digital, data and analytics tools with the use of PowerBI and other applications (e.g. Process/Alarms Dashboards)

• Developing solutions to achieve GSK Site sustainability goals (e.g. Optimizing or finding alternatives to reduce energy or material waste)

What are we looking for?

• Strong communication, leadership and influencing skills

• Good planning and organizational skills

• Independent workers who are responsive and resourceful

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

• Knowledge in Power BI and Data Analytics is a plus

• A passion and desire to learn new things
