Job Summary
Support science practical lessons by preparing materials and equipment, maintaining labs and inventory, ensuring lab safety, and providing logistics and administrative support in a school environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize materials and equipment to support science practical lessons and inquiry-based learning activities
- Maintain cleanliness and order of science laboratories, school garden, and inventory to ensure a safe and functional learning environment
- Handle live specimens, insects, and chemicals safely following established protocols to support practical science activities
- Monitor and enforce lab safety standards to protect students and staff during science lessons
- Provide logistics and administrative support to facilitate smooth operation of science lab activities
- Communicate effectively with teachers and staff to coordinate lab activities and resolve issues promptly
- Use MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiently to document and report lab activities and inventory status
Required competencies and certifications
- Minimum 2 years of lab technician experience, preferably in a primary school setting
- NITEC, Diploma, or GCE ‘O’ Level qualification
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators and students
