Termi Smart Pte. Ltd. is the Singapore wholly owned subsidiary of Qunabox Group. The company focuses on new retail technology systems and product solutions, helping businesses build smarter, more connected and scalable retail operations across international markets.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Managing Director to lead Termi Smart’s international growth from Singapore and Shanghai. This role will shape overseas market strategy, build high-performing regional teams and drive day-to-day operations across key markets, with an initial focus on Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North America.
The Opportunity
Reporting to and working closely with the Qunabox Group Board and senior management, the Managing Director will translate the Group’s product capabilities and long-term vision into a practical international expansion strategy. The successful candidate will combine market insight, technology understanding and strong execution skills to identify growth opportunities, establish local capabilities and deliver sustainable business results.
Key Responsibilities
1. International Market Strategy
• Develop the Group’s overseas market development strategy, with primary focus on Southeast Asia, the Middle East and North America.
• Align international plans with Qunabox Group’s product portfolio, technology roadmap and long-term business objectives.
• Assess market opportunities, industry ecosystems, customer needs, competitive landscapes, regulatory considerations and potential partners.
• Provide the Board and senior management with professional strategic recommendations for overseas expansion, market entry and business prioritisation.
• Monitor developments in China and international new retail technology, including retail digitalisation, IoT, artificial intelligence, automation and connected commerce.
2. Business Planning and Execution
• Convert the international market strategy into detailed annual, quarterly and monthly action plans.
• Define workstreams, priorities, milestones, owners, resource requirements and delivery timelines.
• Establish practical operating mechanisms to track progress, manage risks and ensure accountability.
• Regularly report business development progress, market intelligence, operating performance and strategic recommendations to the Group’s leadership.
3. Team Building and Talent Management
• Recruit, organise and lead teams for market development, business support and customer service in Singapore and other overseas markets.
• Build an effective regional organisational structure and define clear roles, responsibilities and performance expectations.
• Develop incentive mechanisms for key team members and core talent to support business growth, retention and execution excellence.
• Foster a collaborative, customer-focused and results-oriented culture across international teams.
• Develop local leadership capability and ensure consistent operating standards across markets.
4. International Operations and Management
• Oversee the daily operations and management of Termi Smart’s Singapore business and international activities.
• Drive customer acquisition, strategic partnerships, solution deployment, account development and service quality.
• Coordinate cross-functional collaboration with Qunabox Group’s product, technology, operations, finance, legal and other teams.
• Ensure that overseas business activities are managed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies and corporate governance standards.
• Represent Termi Smart and Qunabox Group in relevant industry, customer and partner engagements when required.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree or above in business, technology, engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence or a related discipline.
• More than 10 years of professional experience in retail technology, new retail, Internet of Things (IoT), enterprise technology or closely related fields.
• Strong understanding of the industrial and technology landscape of new retail in China and international markets, as well as major future development trends.
• Demonstrated ability to provide strategic planning and actionable recommendations for overseas market expansion.
• Proven experience in international business development, market entry, regional operations, organisational leadership or P&L responsibility.
• Experience working across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, North America or other international markets is highly valued.
• Candidates with product management, technology development or R&D experience in computer science, artificial intelligence, IoT, software, hardware or related technology fields will be prioritised.
• Strong commercial judgement, analytical thinking and ability to turn strategy into measurable execution.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and at Board and senior-management level.
• Professional fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Mandarin or other relevant regional languages will be an advantage.
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, with regular work between Singapore and Shanghai.
