About Us

Aglaia Family Office Pte Ltd is an independent multi-family office licensed and regulated by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. We advise ultra-high-net-worth families, trusts, foundations, and private investors across investments, wealth holding, and succession. Our team of approximately 35 professionals covers asset allocation and investment management, legal and tax structuring, wealth transfer and family governance, treasury, and entity administration. Each client family is served through its own standalone legal and holding structure; we advise under discretionary and non-discretionary mandates. There is no pooled fund and no proprietary product. Client affairs span multiple custodians, jurisdictions, and entity types; that breadth is a core feature of the practice.

The Opportunity

This role sits within a small, capable legal function. Our growing client base and the increasing volume and complexity of structuring work make for a broad and busy seat. You will report to the General Counsel, work closely with our investment, operations and relationship management teams, and develop primary responsibility for individual client family relationships over time.

The role is structured for a lawyer in the early years of practice. You will be expected to form an initial view and take matters as far as you can, with the General Counsel reviewing and developing that work with you. Scope broadens as you become familiar with our structures and client families, including forming your own view on when to engage external specialists.

Accountability & Scope

Private Wealth and Family Structuring
Support the General Counsel on wealth-holding and succession structures for ultra-high-net-worth families: trusts, foundations, holding companies, and related vehicles across Singapore and relevant international jurisdictions. Review and prepare trust deeds, wills, and estate documentation. Work with external trustees, tax advisers, and specialist counsel to implement structures, integrating their input into practical solutions. Support families through succession, inheritance, and family governance matters with the guidance of the General Counsel. Identify cross-border legal and tax considerations and engage the right specialists purposefully rather than as a default first step.

Fund Investment Review
Review fund subscription agreements, limited partnership agreements, side letters, and related documentation for our fund investments. Identify material legal, structural, and commercial issues before investment and brief the investment team on key points. Coordinate specialist external input where required.

Direct Investments and Special Situations

Assist on selected direct investment transactions: legal due diligence, reviewing and marking up transaction documentation, and supporting on structuring questions. Assist with corporate matters involving existing holdings, including restructurings and exits as they arise. This component represents approximately 10–20% of the role and is not a continuous transaction pipeline.

Policies, Governance and Firm Support
Draft internal memoranda, policies, guidelines, and legal templates, and help embed good practice across the firm. Support our compliance and corporate-governance framework, including KYC/AML processes and regulatory-suitability requirements. You will have dedicated corporate secretarial support for filings and entity administration across the client structures we maintain. Instruct and manage local and international external counsel under the supervision of the General Counsel and take on other matters and special projects as directed.

Ideal Profile

Hard Skills

• Post-qualification experience: newly qualified to approximately 3 years’ PQE, gained in private practice or in-house.

• Legal qualification: admission to the Singapore Bar is advantageous. Lawyers qualified in any recognised common-law jurisdiction are encouraged to apply.

• Academic record: a strong academic background and evidence of well-grounded early-career training.

• Relevant grounding: exposure to private wealth, trusts and estates, funds, corporate or investment work. Where your experience sits in one of these areas rather than all of them, a clear interest in private wealth and family-office practice matters more.

• Drafting and research: the ability to produce accurate first drafts and to research unfamiliar questions and reduce them to a clear, usable answer.

• Cross-border awareness: an appreciation of how international wealth-holding structures work and where legal and tax issues tend to arise, with the judgement to identify where specialist input is required.

Soft Skills

• Developing judgement: forms an initial view on legal and structuring questions and proposes a way forward, with the judgement to know what needs escalating.

• Discretion and emotional intelligence: handles succession, inheritance, and family governance matters with care and sound judgement; attuned to the personal and interpersonal dimensions these situations carry.

• Plain English: explains legal and tax concepts in plain terms that family principals and non-lawyer advisers can act on.

• Meticulous: careful, accurate work with genuine attention to detail, and the reliability to manage several matters at once.

• Commercial instinct: evaluates situations through the lens of what matters to the client, not only what the documentation says.

• Collaborative independence: works across investment, relationship management, and operations teams in a lean, informal environment that operates without formal briefs or institutional structure.
