Database Administrator (ref:120) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and optimize database performance and availability, ensuring service levels are met and implement improvements when needed.
- Manage database operations and governance, including configuration, permissions, hardening standards, naming standards, and documentation.
- Ensure service continuity, leading backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery planning.
- Lead database implementation and support application teams, reviewing database design and recommending improvements to data models.
- Establish and enforce database standards and procedures across implementations.
- Engage stakeholders and educate teams, explaining technical decisions and promoting best practices in coding and design.
- Develop team capability, mentoring junior DBAs, conducting training, and sharing knowledge across the organization.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in database administration.
- Posses experience with either Microsoft SQL Server or PostgreSQL.
- Experience in database migration projects.
- Specifically, migration from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle to PostgreSQL.
