The APAC Data Center Industry Manager is responsible for driving business growth in the Data Center industry across APAC through strategic customer acquisition, direct engagement in major projects, development of qualified pipeline, and conversion of opportunities into measurable sales results.
The role acts as a business builder, working closely with Sales, Global Key Account Managers, key function teams and APAC country organizations to expand LAPP's market position, win strategic projects, increase market share, and accelerate profitable growth in Data Center market.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Customer Acquisition
- Develop and execute the APAC Data Center growth strategy aligned with regional business objectives.
- Identify, prioritize and actively engage strategic target customers across the value chain such as End users, EPCs, system integrators, design firms and OEMs.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, specification owners and buyers.
- Lead customer acquisition activities together with local Sales organizations and Global Key Account Managers.
- Develop customer penetration plans and account development strategies for strategic targets.
Project Development & Opportunity Management
- Identify and drive strategic Data Center projects from early planning stages through project award.
- Support specification development and influence technical requirements in favor of LAPP solutions.
- Coordinate internal resources to increase project win rates. Act as lead for major cross-country opportunities.
Competitive Intelligence & Market Positioning
- Monitor and analyze key competitors, their strategies, customer penetration, project references and market positioning.
- Assess competitor strengths, weaknesses and vulnerabilities and develop actionable strategies to improve LAPP's competitiveness.
- Share competitive insights and best practices across APAC to improve win rates and market share. Develop competitor battlecards, benchmarking analyses.
Internal Enablement
- Develop and implement customer acquisition playbooks, target account strategies and project pursuit frameworks for APAC Sales teams.
- Train and coach sales teams on competitor positioning, key differentiators and winning strategies. Share best practices and facilitate collaboration cross country.
- Establish a regular APAC Data Center pipeline and project tracking process.
Industry Ecosystem & Networking
- Build and leverage a network of developers, operators, EPCs, contractors and tech partners.
- Represent LAPP at relevant industry associations, conferences and trade events.
- Use networking activities to generate qualified opportunities and strengthen market access.
Target Profile:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or comparable qualification.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Center industry, with strong understanding of Data Center ecosystem and project lifecycle.
- Proven track record in customer acquisition and opportunity development as B2B sales/BD.
- Entrepreneurial mindset. Results-driven and opportunity-focused.
- Fluent English. Additional Asian language is advantageous.
