Job Summary
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and restaurant standards while overseeing kitchen operations and guiding junior staff to maintain food quality, hygiene, and safety in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes following established recipes and restaurant quality standards
- Deliver food in a timely manner while ensuring consistency and high quality
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and coordinate food preparation activities for smooth workflow
- Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking techniques
- Monitor food quality, portion sizes, and presentation to meet restaurant standards
- Manage proper storage, handling, and rotation of food ingredients to maintain freshness
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of kitchen equipment, workstations, and food prep areas
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene protocols, and workplace safety requirements
- Adapt to shift work including weekends and public holidays as required
- Perform other kitchen-related duties assigned by management
Requirements
- Experience supervising or guiding kitchen staff
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Responsible, reliable, and committed to maintaining high food quality standards
