Roles and Responsibilities
- Reports to Project Director on the management of subcontractors including the assessment and selection, placing orders and having financial control of work undertaken.
- Assist in day-to-day procurement administration and manage project budgeting.
- Manage correspondence including the timely pricing and agreement of variations, effective handling of contract, and early settlement of disputes / claims.
- Arrange off-site material visits and attend tender interviews.
- Obtain quotations, liaise and negotiate with sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Responsible for measuring quantities and taking off quantities, preparing costing and budget for tenders and awarded projects.
- Prepare and analyse cost comparison before and after completion of projects.
- Liaise and establish rapport with architects and developers, consultants, quantity surveyor.
- Handle certification of claims for subcontractors and suppliers for progress payment and finalisation of accounts.
- Prepare variation orders, claims, final accounts, settlement, and sub-contractor payments.
- Ensure that up-to-date project files with proper documentation are maintained.
Requirements
- Diploma/ Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or equivalent.
- Capable of working independently as well as part of the overall contracts team.
- At least 3-4 years' experience in representing the main contractor/consultants for residential and conservation projects in Singapore is highly preferred.
- Proven ability in contract negotiation, contract administration & handling variation orders.
- Good communication and presentation skills, as well as time management.
