Job Scope:
The Registry is responsible for the management and disposal of cases which includes the processing, storing and retrieval of court documents, as well as fixing hearings for matters commencing in the Court.
You will be expected to:
- assist the Judicial Officers in matters affecting cases before the Court of Appeal (CA) and the Appellate Division of the High Court (AD);
- manage cases filed in the CA and the AD through analysing, reviewing, monitoring and processing documents in accordance with the applicable legislation, rules, practice directions, standard operating procedures and policies;
- draft case summaries, papers/reports, notices and general correspondence and liaise with lawyers, self-represented persons and other stakeholders (including external agencies) to facilitate smooth proceedings and the efficient disposal of cases;
- compile, verify and maintain accurate up-to-date case information and statistics on cases, caseload and disposal, preparing reports including analysis of the statistics where appropriate;
- manage and provide support in the development and implementation of operational systems or hanges thereto or in administering the operations of the CA/AD Registry; and
- assist in the functions and work of the Registry in general as and when assigned.
Requirements:
- Preferably with at least 2-3 years of working experience. Legal training will be an advantage
- Excellent command of language
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work under pressure
- Organised, good with details and meticulous with commitment to deliver high quality work
- Pro-active and able to work independently as well as in a team, and work effectively with diverse groups
Location: Clarke Quay / City Hall
Contract Period: 6 months
Salary: $5200 to $6000/month (depending on experience)
Working Arrangement: Mon-Fri office hours
