Associate Chemist (Trainer)

Abbott seeks an Associate Chemist (Trainer) to develop and deliver laboratory training programs, ensuring personnel are qualified to perform testing activities safely and effectively. The role involves competency assessment, training material development, and compliance with GMP, GLP, and ISO/IEC 17025 standards in a nutrition science environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver laboratory training programs for new hires and existing analysts
- Assess trainee competency through observations, practical demonstrations, and proficiency evaluations
- Maintain training records, qualification matrices, and ensure all personnel complete training on schedule
- Provide coaching and mentoring on testing procedures, method implementation, and equipment operation
- Support investigations, CAPA implementation, and continuous improvement by identifying competency gaps
Requirements
- 1–3 years of laboratory, quality control, or analytical testing experience
- Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation: HPLC, UV-Vis, ICP, FTIR
- Training, coaching, mentoring, or competency assessment experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or related field; or diploma with 1–3 years relevant laboratory experience
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, documentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
