Work you'll do

In Southeast Asia, a major economic zone with a population approaching 700 million, the investment appetite of Japanese companies has been increasing significantly in recent years. As Japanese businesses in Southeast Asia continue to grow and diversify, there has been a notable rise in consultations regarding digital transformation, particularly those utilizing AI and data. Our department has been experiencing steady growth over the past three years.

Many companies in Southeast Asia have moved past the trial phase of AI activities and are now in the execution phase, integrating AI into their operations as a fundamental element to enhance business competitiveness and efficiency.

Key focus areas include:

• Transitioning from simple data visualization to complex analytics involving vast amounts of data
• Applying AI across all areas of the value chain, including R&D, manufacturing, sales, after-sales services, and corporate functions
• Scaling up AI penetration and utilization across entire client organizations within the region

These themes are frequently discussed, either individually or in combination. Southeast Asian countries are actively advancing AI utilization, making it a high-growth, fast-paced field. Our comprehensive capabilities in organization, processes, and technology are highly valued, leading to increased opportunities. In light of these developments, we are actively recruiting for this position.

The following are examples of key themes in our Artificial Intelligence & Data projects for Japanese companies in Southeast Asia:

Amid increasing business complexity, we provide consulting services to meet the needs for rebuilding internal data infrastructure, strengthening analytics systems, and collaborating with cutting-edge technologies such as AI. Rather than being entrusted solely with implementation, you will collaborate with consulting teams that extend beyond IT to determine what technologies should be considered to drive business forward and what structure should be adopted for this project, all from a management perspective.

In addition to high-level strategy formulation, our approach involves engaging with clients not only in solution implementation, managed services, and hosting but also in providing training if needed. We delve into client issues from a broad range of areas, identifying and clarifying problems before selecting solutions, ensuring comprehensive support throughout the process.

As Manager, you will demonstrate leadership in a mixed team of local and JCS members, managing projects while using personal strengths to support project and client development.

Requirements:

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese with business-level English
• Orr native-level proficiency in English with business-level Japanese

Required Knowledge or Experience in One of the Following Areas

Data Strategy, Process, and Architecture:

• Knowledge and experience in data utilization strategies within enterprises, including the organization, data governance, data management processes, and architecture planning to achieve these strategies.

Implementation Experience with BI / Data Lake / DWH / Metadata Management / ETL:

• Consulting and implementation experience with BI tools (such as Tableau, QlikSense, Power BI)
• Consulting and implementation experience with Data Lake, DWH, Metadata Management, ETL
• Consulting and implementation experience related to data governance
• Consulting and implementation experience with MDM (Master Data Management)
• Implementation experience with Customer Data Platforms
• Consulting and implementation experience with CDPs using GCP, AWS, Azure
• Knowledge and Experience in Analytics/AI
• Knowledge in data science (statistics, machine learning) and programming for data analysis using Python, R, or development and implementation experience with AutoML tools like Data Robot
• Experience in AI operations such as MLOps
• Experience in leading projects
• Proven track record of contributing to securing projects through proposal activities
• Native level Japanese and business level English or native level English and business level Japanese
• Southeast Asia related consulting experience

Ideal Candidate Profile is as follows:

• Consulting Experience
• Possesses consulting experience at a consulting firm in areas such as data strategy, data platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), data management, BI, analytics, and AI.
• IT Vendor Experience
• Has experience in building data platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure), data management, BI, analytics, and AI at an IT vendor, with the potential to excel as a consultant.
