Role Purpose
As a Host at Mama Shelter , you are more than the first-person guests meet and you set the mood .
Outgoing, lively, bubbly and naturally social, you welcome guests like they’re arriving at Mama’s home. You know how to mingle, start conversations, remember familiar faces and make newcomers feel instantly comfortable .
From managing reservations and the flow of the restaurant to creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere, you bring the Mama spirit to every interaction.
What You’ll Do
- Welcome every guest with energy, warmth and personality .
- Be outgoing and confident and mingle with guests, make conversation and create connections .
- Recognise returning guests and make first-time visitors feel like regulars.
- Manage reservations, seating plans, waiting lists and restaurant flow efficiently.
- Answer reservation enquiries and guest questions quickly and confidently.
- Communicate closely with the service team to manage table availability and guest expectations.
- Know what’s happening at Mama and actively share our restaurants, bars, events and experiences with guests.
- Read the room and know when guests want conversation, when they need assistance and when they simply want to enjoy themselves.
- Help create the buzz, energy and atmosphere that makes Mama feel different.
- Support the service team whenever needed at Mama, everyone rolls up their sleeves.
- Handle guest concerns with confidence, positivity and genuine care.
- Keep the host station and entrance welcoming, organised and ready for action.
- Always represent Mama with personality, professionalism and style.
