Senior Manager, Finance

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior Manager, Finance to join our Group Finance team in Singapore.
The role will be responsible for Group financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and consolidation across the Group, overseas offices, subsidiaries and operating entities.
The successful candidate will work closely with the General Manager, Finance to provide financial insights, identify business risks and opportunities, and support strategic and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Group FP&A and Financial Planning
- Lead the Group's annual budgeting and business planning process.
- Coordinate budgets and forecasts across Singapore and overseas subsidiaries.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial forecasts and rolling forecasts.
- Develop financial models, scenario analysis and sensitivity analysis to support management decision-making.
- Analyse revenue, profitability, operating costs, capital expenditure and cash flow.
- Identify key business drivers, risks and opportunities and recommend appropriate actions.
- Monitor actual performance against budget, forecast and prior periods.
2. Group Consolidation & Management Reporting
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual Group consolidation process .
- Review financial submissions from overseas subsidiaries and ensure accuracy, consistency and completeness.
- Manage intercompany reconciliations and eliminations.
- Review consolidation adjustments, foreign exchange translation, minority interests and other group accounting matters.
- Prepare consolidated management reports and financial analysis for senior management and the Group CFO.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting in accordance with Group accounting policies and applicable SFRS/IFRS requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors on Group reporting and consolidation matters.
3. Shipping & Commercial Finance
- Provide financial analysis of container shipping and logistics performance , including revenue, volume, yield, freight rates and operating costs.
- Analyse key shipping KPIs.
- Partner with Commercial, Operations, Network and Terminal teams to understand business performance and financial drivers.
- Support profitability analysis by trade lane, route, customer, service and country where required.
- Evaluate the financial impact of new routes, contracts, terminals, equipment purchases and other strategic initiatives.
4. Business Partnering
- Act as a finance business partner to senior management and regional / country managers.
- Challenge business assumptions and provide commercially relevant financial insights.
- Translate financial data into clear recommendations for management.
- Support management in evaluating new business opportunities, investments and strategic initiatives.
- Prepare financial analysis and presentations for the Board, management committees and senior leadership .
5. Cash Flow, CAPEX & Investment Analysis
- Monitor Group cash flow and working capital performance.
- Support cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning.
- Review and analyse capital expenditure requirements, including containers, equipment, systems and other operational investments.
- Prepare financial business cases and investment analysis.
- Support management in assessing ROI, payback and financial risks of major investments.
6. Finance Transformation & Process Improvement
- Review and improve Group FP&A, consolidation and reporting processes.
- Strengthen financial controls, reporting standards and management information across overseas entities.
- Identify opportunities for automation and digitalisation of reporting and consolidation processes.
- Improve the quality, timeliness and consistency of financial data across the Group.
- Support implementation or enhancement of ERP, consolidation and business intelligence systems.
7. Team Leadership
- Lead, coach and develop members of the FP&A / Group Finance team.
- Establish clear reporting standards, deadlines and performance expectations.
- Coordinate closely with Finance teams in Singapore and overseas offices.
- Build finance capabilities across the Group and promote a strong commercial and performance-oriented finance culture.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting or a related discipline with 8 years of relevant finance experience, with strong experience in FP&A, management reporting and/or Group consolidation.
- Professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred. Experience in shipping, container logistics, freight forwarding, terminal operations or other international asset-intensive industries is preferred.
- Strong experience in multi-entity / international financial consolidation.
- Good knowledge of IFRS and experience dealing with overseas subsidiaries and cross-border financial reporting.
- Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong Excel and financial reporting skills; experience with ERP / consolidation systems is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior management and overseas stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced international environment.
