The SPF plays a critical role in keeping Singapore safe and secure, with our mission to prevent, deter and detect crime. As a Commercial Affairs Officer in the CAD, you can look forward to a challenging career in financial crime investigation, financial intelligence analysis and policy formulation. You play an important role in proactively preventing and deterring criminals from abusing our financial system and detecting these criminal activities efficiently. Structured training programmes are provided for new Commercial Affairs Officers on financial crime investigation, financial intelligence analysis and key legislation enforced by CAD. At the appropriate juncture, officers will be given the opportunity for job rotation and secondment. What You Will Be Working On As the principal agency that safeguards Singapore's integrity as a world-class financial and commercial centre through vigilant and professional enforcement of the laws, the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) offers a number of exciting opportunities and challenges through the following job functions:
- Financial Intelligence Analysis – Officers can look forward to developing data analytical capabilities to detect criminal activities and disseminate timely financial intelligence to domestic authorities to commence investigation. Officers will also be exposed to building partnerships with the private sector in strengthening Singapore's suspicious transaction reporting regime and collaborating with international and regional stakeholders to combat money laundering and terrorism financing.
- Investigation – Officers will assist in criminal legal proceedings arising from investigations into commercial fraud and abuses, and liaise with organisations such as banks, law firms, audit firms, as well as government and quasi-government agencies to maintain the integrity of the economic structure in Singapore.
