Shipping Assistant

To enter data from various source documents into the computer system for storage, processing and data management purposes.

Job Descriptions

. Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry in order to comply with data integrity and security policies.

. Check source documents for accuracy, verify data and correct data where necessary

. Obtain further information for incomplete documents

. Respond to requests for information and access relevant files

. Minimum knowledge in preparing full set of shipping documents and permit declaration e.g. Delivery Order, Invoice, Packing List , Good Receipt, Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Conformance ,Bill of Lading etc.

. Liaise with the forwarders and shipping agents on the local outgoing shipments and export arrangement.

. Work cohesively with Customer Service and Warehouse personnel.

Requirements

. Minimum ITE or GCE 'N' level.

. Preference to be given to candidates with experience in logistics or manufacturing environment.

. Proficient in relevant computer applications such as MS Office, SAP Business One would be added advantage.

. Accurate keyboard skills and proven ability to enter data at the required speed.

. Planning and organizing attention to detail.

. Problem solving, decision-making skills, communication skills.

. Ability to work under pressure.

. Perform OT when required.

. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
