Responsibilities for Staff Nurse [Psychiatric Ward]:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care based on patients' clinical needs, medical instructions, and hospital policies.
- Deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centred mental health nursing care.
- Provide health education, guidance, and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Ensure compliance with nursing standards, hospital policies, infection prevention, and patient safety practices.
- Maintain accurate documentation and promptly communicate patients' condition, treatment, and progress to the Nurse Manager, Senior Nurse Manager, and attending doctor.
- Maintain a safe, therapeutic, and supportive care environment.
- Guide and support junior nursing staff and newly joined nurses.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for Staff Nurse [Psychiatric Ward]:
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing with a valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) licence.
- Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Mental Health) is an advantage.
- Previous experience in an acute care hospital, particularly in a psychiatric or mental health setting, is preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage patients empathetically.
- Able to remain calm and professional in a dynamic clinical environment.
- Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to patient care.
- Passionate about developing a career in mental health nursing.
- Able to work rotating 3-shift schedules.
