Outfitting Engineer

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review outfitting engineering deliverables, including layouts, technical specifications, equipment datasheets, material take-off, and design calculations.
Develop outfitting arrangements for offshore or marine facilities, including access platforms, ladders, handrails, stairs, doors, hatches, helideck interfaces, deck outfitting, accommodation areas, and material handling systems.
Coordinate outfitting design interfaces with structural, piping, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, marine, and safety disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible design solutions.
Review vendor drawings, fabrication yard documents, and supplier technical submissions to ensure compliance with project specifications and class requirements.
Support procurement activities by preparing requisitions, reviewing technical bids, and providing technical clarifications for outfitting materials and equipment.
Assist in the development and maintenance of equipment lists, tag registers, weight control data, and material tracking records for outfitting scope.
Ensure outfitting designs comply with applicable international standards, classification society rules, company procedures, and client specifications.
Support fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, and commissioning activities by resolving technical queries and reviewing site changes or non-conformance items.
Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, safety reviews, and technical meetings with clients, yards, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
Provide engineering support for accommodation outfitting, safety and lifesaving equipment arrangements, corrosion protection interfaces, and access or maintenance provisions where applicable.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related engineering discipline is preferred.
Minimum 3 to 8 years of relevant experience in outfitting engineering within offshore, marine, shipbuilding, FPSO, or oil and gas projects.
Good knowledge of outfitting design principles, fabrication practices, and installation requirements for marine or offshore structures is required.
Familiarity with class and regulatory requirements such as DNV, Lloyd’s Register, Bureau Veritas, ABS, or equivalent is preferred.
Experience in reviewing technical drawings, 3D models, vendor documents, and yard documentation is required.
Proficiency in relevant engineering and design tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, FORAN, CADMATIC, or similar software is an advantage.
Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for multidisciplinary project environments.
