Assistant Cook
Golden Pagoda Buddhist Temple
Responsibilities
- The cook performs his duties within the framework of standards and work procedures as defined by the Chief Cook and Management.
- Support the Chief Cook in development, operation and administration of the kitchen.
- Responsible for the quality, quantity and appearance of food served.
- Control the proper utilization of goods and ensure that food wastage is kept to minimum.
- Responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of areas, equipment and utensils placed at his disposal.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a kitchen, preferably in vegetarian cuisine
- Valid Basic Food Hygiene certification
- N-Level, O-Level, or ITE qualification
- Comfortable working in a Buddhist temple environment
- Able to work on rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays
- Ability to communicate in Chinese is preferred, as the role involves serving Chinese-speaking customers
- Singaporean / Singapore PR / LTVP only.
