Education required: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Chemical Engineering or Pharmaceutical Engineering

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a full-time credit-bearing internship

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

What will you do?

This internship focuses on delivery of enabling projects to ensure that Value Stream 2 (VS2) remains the choice building for New Product Introduction for GSK globally, to supply new medicines to our patients.

This includes:

• Leading operational improvement projects (yield and cycle time improvement) through the use of Lean Six Sigma tools, Digital Data & Analytics, and platforms such as Power BI, Mtell, Power Apps & Microsoft Excel
• Learning Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and develop a sense for Good Documentation Practices that is applicable for Pharmaceutical Production
• Support Project team in Operational/Performance Qualification, HAZOP, Risk Assessment, FMEA to support new product and equipment introduction to VS2
• Assist Engineers in day-to-day production activities via troubleshooting and problem-solving
• To lead the housekeeping of consumable items for kilo-scale facility and high potency facility to support future manufacturing campaigns and new product introductions

What will you learn?

• Through on-the-job learning, the intern will work alongside with the engineers & technicians for a better understanding of the manufacturing processes and technologies
• The intern will minic the role of a production engineer to drive operational improvement projects (e.g. yield and cycle time reduction) to maximise the production trains capacity and increase process efficiency through the use of data analytics
• Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with personnel from diverse departments, fostering a holistic approach to project execution and learning
• By engaging with professionals from various disciplines, interns will gain a comprehensive understanding of the interconnected nature of operations within the organization

What are we looking for?

• Good planning and organizational skills
• Independent workers who are responsive and resourceful
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Knowledge in Power BI and Data Analytics is a plus
• A passion and desire to learn new things
• Curious and like to self explore with minimum guidance
• Comfortable working with shopfloor people
