Director/ Head of Finance Business Partnering (Tampines)

Role Purpose

Lead an integrated finance function that partners with the business across the full project lifecycle: from project initiation and design through R&D and mass production. You will run finance as a value-adding partner up front and a standardized, automated transaction engine at the back.

Key Responsibilities

Front-end business partnering (Sales, Supply Chain, R&D)

• Lead the Sales BP, Supply Chain BP and R&D BP teams to drive cost, margin and investment discipline from project initiation onward.
• Sales: Track design cost and project ROI against targets. Monitor sales target attainment and analyse gaps and opportunities. Control sales expenses and follow up on corrective actions.
• Supply chain: Drive BOM cost target achievement, including cost model coverage, variance analysis, supplier price variance and rolling BOM cost forecasts. Support procurement risk identification and supplier qualification. Control inventory, turnover and slow-moving stock.
• R&D: Monitor NPI yield performance and drive root cause analysis and improvement. Control R&D budget and NRE fee recovery. Deliver R&D management dashboards and rolling R&D expense forecasts.

FP&A (production and corporate performance)

• Own annual budgeting and rolling forecasts.
• Deliver regular management dashboards that track operating performance, flag opportunities and give early risk warnings.
• Control management expenses and review headcount and payroll.
• Manage performance against operating targets across mass production.

Shared services and finance operations (SSC)

• Oversee month-end close, actual cost accounting and payroll accounting.
• Drive month-end automation and standardised accounting processes.
• Lead system implementation and validation (SAP and master data systems). Build the transactional data foundation.

Leadership and enablement

• Build and develop a multi-layered finance team across BP, FP&A and SSC.
• Deliver specialised analytical and control capabilities across the BP teams.
• Integrate systems and data across CRM, PLM, MES, SAP BW and attendance systems to support decision-making.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and senior business leaders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. CPA, ACCA, CMA or MBA preferred.
• 12+ years of finance experience in manufacturing, ideally in electronics, precision components or high-tech. At least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience in business partnering across sales, supply chain and R&D , and in product costing and BOM cost control.
• Strong FP&A background: budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Experience managing or transforming a shared service centre or finance operations.
• Hands-on ERP experience (SAP required). Exposure to PLM, MES and BI tools (SAP BW) is a plus.
• Track record in finance digitalization and automation.
• Strong stakeholder influence and the ability to challenge the business.
