Job Summary
You will prepare and cook dishes following standard recipes, ensure food quality and hygiene, manage kitchen operations, and coordinate with staff to deliver consistent, timely meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant’s menu and standard recipes to ensure consistent quality and taste
- Plan and prepare ingredients daily to support smooth kitchen operations
- Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to maintain consistency and efficiency
- Check ingredient quality and freshness before use to uphold food standards
- Manage food storage and implement measures to minimize food wastage
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, kitchen cleanliness, and workplace safety to comply with regulations
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and service
- Assist in menu preparation and recommend dish improvements based on feedback and observations
- Train and guide junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
- Ensure proper maintenance and safe use of all kitchen equipment
- Perform other kitchen-related duties as assigned by management
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Relevant experience as a Chef or in a similar kitchen position
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food hygiene standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
