Facility Engineer

About the Role

We are hiring Facility Engineers across multiple levels (Junior and Senior) to manage the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of mission-critical infrastructure within Internet Data Centres (IDC).

Successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability and operational excellence of critical facility systems.

The appointment level (Junior Facility Engineer or Senior Facility Engineer) will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience and technical competency.

Responsibilities

. Perform 24×7 or rotating shift duties based on operational requirements.

. Operate and maintain critical facility infrastructure including power distribution, UPS, generators, HVAC, chilled water systems and related equipment.

. Monitor facility performance and respond promptly to operational incidents.

. Perform fault diagnosis, root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.

. Develop and execute preventive maintenance plans and Method of Procedures (MOPs).

. Maintain operation logs, maintenance records and technical documentation.

. Coordinate with contractors and vendors during maintenance and project implementation.

. Participate in facility upgrades, commissioning and acceptance activities.

. Ensure compliance with safety, operational and regulatory standards.

. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities (Senior Level)

Candidates appointed as Senior Facility Engineers will additionally:

. Lead technical troubleshooting and major incident management.

. Review maintenance strategies and optimise operational processes.

. Lead critical infrastructure projects and commissioning activities.

. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.

. Coordinate cross-functional teams and external contractors.

. Support capacity planning, risk management and operational improvements.

Requirements

. Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related disciplines.

. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience for Junior Facility Engineer.

. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for Senior Facility Engineer.

. Experience in critical facilities, data centres, building services or mission-critical environments is preferred.

. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

. Knowledge of UPS, HVAC, generators, electrical distribution, fire protection or BMS systems will be an advantage.

. Good communication and teamwork skills.

. Able to perform shift work where required.
