Senior Scientist
Illumina
Senior Scientist role within Applications and Customer Enablement team, designing and deploying integrated genomic workflow solutions for strategic customers. Requires expertise in NGS, automation, and liquid handling systems to support adoption of Illumina technologies across omics applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development, and deployment of reference workflows including library prep, automation, LIMS integration, and data analysis
- Develop and optimize automated laboratory workflows with emphasis on liquid handling platform scripting and troubleshooting
- Design and execute workflow verification studies; analyze data and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Partner with commercial and product development teams to understand customer needs and drive workflow improvements
- Provide technical support, training, and on-site customer engagements; mentor colleagues on automation and workflow expertise
Requirements
- 5+ years related experience with Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years with Master's, or PhD
- Hands-on programming and troubleshooting of automated liquid handling systems; Hamilton VENUS experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of NGS, library preparation, LIMS, and downstream analysis
- Understanding of high-throughput processes and process management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across technical and business stakeholders
- Ability to multitask effectively and collaborate across cross-functional teams
