Site Manager – Building & Structural Steel
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise daily site operations for building construction and structural steel works.
- Coordinate structural steel erection, installation, alignment, connection and related building works.
- Supervise subcontractors, workers and suppliers to ensure works follow the approved drawings, specifications and method statements.
- Read and interpret architectural, structural and shop drawings .
- Plan and monitor work schedules, manpower, materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with Project Manager, consultants, subcontractors and clients.
- Monitor work progress, quality and site safety.
- Attend site meetings and provide progress updates.
- Identify and resolve site technical and coordination issues.
- Ensure structural steel works are carried out safely and according to approved requirements. BCA guidance specifically recognises structural-steel supervision as requiring suitably trained and experienced personnel.
- Prepare daily/weekly site reports and monitor project documentation.
Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant site management/supervision experience .
- Strong experience in building construction and structural steel works .
- Able to read and understand structural drawings, shop drawings and architectural drawings .
- Good knowledge of Singapore construction practices, safety requirements and site coordination.
- Able to speak Mandarin/Chinese fluently to communicate with Chinese-speaking workers, subcontractors and management.
- Able to communicate in English for coordination with consultants, clients and authorities.
- Good leadership, problem-solving and coordination skills.
- Relevant Singapore safety certifications will be an advantage.
