Architect, Network for AI, Routing and Automation

HPE Networking has an immediate opening for a team-oriented, highly effective, and self-motivated Architect, under the Global Network for AI Technical Solution Architecture Asia-Pacific and Japan team. Architects are part of the HPE Networking GTM (Go to Market) Team and have a primary responsibility to partner with Product Management, and engineering on driving technical sales activities for opportunities in forward-looking and emerging technologies as well as new network evolutions. Architects possess in-depth, hands-on expertise with HPE Juniper Networking's products, and solutions as well as other open-source or 3rd party technologies that complement HPE Networking’s vision in the Network Infrastructure space. Architects are well known in the industry and participate in talks as well as standardization activities (IETF, NOG, GSMA, ORAN etc.).

 

What You’ll Do: 

• Collaborate with Sales to articulate the value of our Routing Infrastructure solutions. 

• Technically qualify large opportunities and advise Sales on the recommended well-known approach. 

• Lead the end-to-end Networking Infrastructure architecture, ensuring customer requirements are met. 

• Lead the technical solution and customization in complex deals, coordinating with Specialists, Technical Resources, Engineering, and Product Management. 

• Provide insights on HW and SW configurations and best practices for successful project implementation. 

• Develop partnerships with Integrators and key partners to solve complex problems 

• Deliver compelling Demos and Proof of Concepts, articulating value propositions. 

• Translate customer objectives into technical requirements and drive internal features and solutions. 

• Shape/customize solutions across the entire company portfolio (products, services, solutions) with necessary third-party components and offered as either CAPEX or SaaS, and IaaS with close alignment with product management. 

• Articulate technical value, present solutions, and overcome objections. 

• Ensure smooth knowledge transfer to the delivery team. 

• Size, design, configure, and price technical solutions using industry best practices. 

• Act as an expert on JUNOS, MPLS, RSVP, SR-MPLS, SRv6, L2VPN, L3VPN, multicast, EVPN, VXLAN, BGP, CoS, SP WAN Networks (Access, Aggregation, Edge and Core), Enterprise WAN, Datacenter, and virtualization concepts and principles. 

• Utilize in-depth knowledge of HPE Networking products such as JUNOS, MX, PTX, QFX, CX, SRX, EX, ACX, VMX, VSRX, Routing Director, Mist, and Apstra platforms along with expertise with SDN and NFV to partner with sales account managers to position products and solutions.

• Collaborate extensively with theatre Technical Solutions Architecture (TSA) Routing team to encourage sharing of insights, experiences and documentation on customer success and failures

Minimum Qualifications 

• Extensive pre-sales experience in selling high-end networking equipment and solutions, with excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to connect technical solutions to business requirements, is essential.

• Fluent in verbal and written English.

• 15+ years of experience in Service Provider WAN Infrastructure, IP routing, and Ethernet switching, with hands-on knowledge in designing large-scale networks, data centre IP Fabric, and SDN environments.

• An advanced degree in technology or equivalent 

• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate on complex technical and sales topics and build relationships with C-level executives and technical decision-makers in client and partner organizations. 

• The candidate should have expert-level knowledge and hands-on experience in multiple technical domains, including: 

• Designing and operationalizing large-scale IP/MPLS based Core/Access/Metro/Edge networks and MPLS-TE (Traffic-Engineering) for Service Providers and large Enterprises. 

Designing Datacenter IP Fabrics, EVPN/VXLAN Fabrics, and DCI solutions.

• Overlay protocols such as MP-BGP, EVPN, and tunnelling technologies such as VXLAN, MPLS, SR/SRv6. 

• Understanding the architecture and benefits of HPE Networking ACX, MX, PTX, QFX Series or equivalent competitor products. 

• Experience with network provisioning and automation (Apstra, Paragon Automation/Routing Director, or equivalent competitive products). 

• Practical knowledge of and hands-on experience with AI/ML-Ops and Agentic AI technologies such as MCP, A2A, RAG, LLM, SLM, etc

• Familiarity with network monitoring and manageability using Netconf, REST APIs, YANG, and telemetry. 

• Knowledge in virtualization technologies on x86 and scaling using technologies like DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs, etc. 

• Experience preparing RFP/Tender response documents like compliance to the RFP, bill of materials, commercial/pricing, and solution documents to drive a successful response. 

Additional Requirements 

• Formal or informal technical sales leadership or mentoring is desired 

• JNCIE or equivalent expert-level industry-standard certifications is desired

• Programming - exposure and familiarity with API's, Postman, JSON, Python, etc. is desired 

• This position may involve up to 50% travel, including the opportunity for international travel a few times a year on a short notice
