Lead Optical Transceiver Firmware Engineer

JOB SUMMARY
Lead Optical Transceiver Firmware Engineer develops and maintains the embedded software for optical transceivers, ensuring they operate reliably and efficiently. This role requires a deep understanding of both hardware and software, with responsibilities including designing, implementing, testing, and debugging firmware for these devices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Firmware Development: Writing, debugging, and testing firmware for optical transceivers, often using C or C++.
. Hardware Integration: Collaborating with hardware engineers to ensure the firmware works seamlessly with the transceiver's hardware.
. Testing and Validation: Thoroughly testing firmware to ensure it meets performance and reliability requirements.
. Problem Solving: Debugging and resolving issues with firmware and hardware integration.
. Performance Optimization: Optimizing firmware for speed, efficiency, and power consumption.
. Documentation: Maintaining detailed documentation of firmware code and functionality.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
. Bachelor's Degree: Typically a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
. Experience: Relevant experience in firmware development, embedded systems, and optical transceivers is highly desirable.
. Master's Degree or Ph.D.: May be preferred or required for more senior positions.
