- Performing for live audiences in various settings including theaters, concerts, and festivals
- Developing and interpreting characters for a dramatic performance
- Collaborating with directors, other performers, choreographers and agents to ensure a successful performance
- Studying and learning different types of roles and characters to expand their skills
- Maintaining good vocal and physical health to sustain performance levels
- Preparing for auditions and performing in front of casting directors
- Attending promotional events and interviews to promote their performances
- Reviewing scripts or musical scores, learning lines or songs, and developing characterization
- Engaging with the audience during a performance, often improvising reactions and dialogue
