Supervises employees on an assigned shift to perform maintenance or service functions to specific time, quality, and cost standards. Maintenance activities can range from janitorial, caretaker, manual maintenance work, carpentry, painting and plumbing. At more senior levels may include a higher degree of troubleshooting and more complex maintenance such as machine installation/replacement or electrical work. Job Responsibilities Site Maintenance Perform a range of site maintenance activities, critically reviewing and providing input while working within the established site maintenance plan to achieve pre-established outcomes. Equipment Maintenance and Repair Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and systems for emergency repairs and carry out preventive maintenance inspections. Operations Management Provide operational support services and sometimes act as first-line supervisor of a transactional operations area. Involves using existing systems and protocols. Leadership and Direction Explain the local action plan to support team members in their understanding of what needs to be done, and how this relates to the broader business plan and the organization's strategy, mission and vision; motivate people to achieve local business goals. Work Scheduling and Allocation Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order to achieve expectations while following established timelines. Performance Management Respond to personal objectives and use performance management systems to improve personal performance. ÃÂ OR Monitor the performance of the team; allocate work and review completion, take appropriate corrective action to ensure timeliness and quality; contribute to formal individual performance management and appraisal. Health, Safety and Environment Follow the organization's Health, Safety and Environment (HSandE) policies, procedures and mandatory instructions; to identify and mitigate environmental risks and risks to the wellbeing of oneself and others in the workplace; instruct the team in safe working methods; identify instances of risky behaviors within the team and take appropriate action, escalating serious issues as appropriate. Quality Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives, and monitoring them to make sure they are effective. Operational Compliance Identify, within the team, instances of non-compliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these and escalating issues as appropriate. Internal Communications Use the internal communications system to access specific information.
