Position Title: Sales Manager – Japanese Food Sales, Procurement & Operations

Working Hours:
This role supports fresh food distribution operations, which involve irregular and extended working hours. The candidate must be prepared to work night and early-morning operations, weekends, and public holidays when required. Current operational hours may range from approximately 6:00 pm to 4:00 am, depending on flight schedules, customer orders, delivery requirements, and operational needs.

Job Summary:
GOGO FOODS SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking a Sales Manager to oversee daily sales, procurement, logistics coordination, customer management and operational execution for Japanese food products in Singapore.

The role report directly to General Manager and requires a hands-on manager who can work across office, warehouse, airport cargo and customer-facing environments. The successful candidate must be able to manage staff and customers while also supporting ground operations when required, including order checking, product quality checks, stock coordination, delivery planning and urgent operational follow-up.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage day-to-day operations for Japanese food product distribution in Singapore.
2. Coordinate sales, procurement, logistics, inventory, customer service and delivery planning.
3. Liaise with Japan-based suppliers, exporters, freight forwarders and logistics partners regarding product orders, shipment status, documentation, quality matters and urgent operational issues.
4. Support procurement of fresh seafood, frozen seafood, wagyu beef, Japanese ingredients, dry goods and related food products.
5. Communicate with restaurant customers regarding product availability, specifications, pricing, quality feedback and delivery arrangements.
6. Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams on inbound cargo, stock movement, order picking, cold-chain handling and dispatch schedules.
7. Assist with airport cargo arrival planning, late-night operational coordination and urgent shipment recovery when required.
8. Monitor sales performance, customer accounts, product margins, stock levels and operational costs.
9. Handle customer complaints, supplier issues, product shortages, cargo delays and delivery problems.
10. Train and supervise staff to ensure accurate order handling, product knowledge, food safety awareness and service standards.
11. Prepare internal reports for management, including sales updates, operational issues, supplier matters and customer development progress.
12. Support the Managing Director and directors in implementing business plans and improving operational efficiency.

Requirements:

1. Experiences in supply chain, logistics, hospitality, international trade or a related field.
2. Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in food distribution, Japanese food trading, restaurant supply, seafood supply, import/export, logistics or related industries.
3. The ability to speak Japanese fluently due to the need for daily communication with the Japanese fish market supplier and customer.
4. The ability to read Japanese due to the need to send a purchase order and receive the supplier invoice in Japanese.
5. Experience managing sales, procurement, logistics coordination, customer accounts or operations teams.
6. Strong knowledge of Japanese food products, including fresh seafood, frozen seafood, wagyu beef and Japanese ingredients.
7. Understanding of cold-chain handling, perishable food products, airfreight shipments and time-sensitive delivery operations.
8. Business-level Japanese language proficiency is required to liaise with Japan-based suppliers, exporters and business partners on product, shipment and quality matters.
9. Business-level English proficiency is required for communication with local staff, customers and business partners in Singapore.
10. Able to work irregular hours, including night shifts, early mornings, weekends and public holidays when required.
11. Hands-on attitude and willingness to support operational tasks, including stock checking, order coordination, cargo follow-up and delivery support when necessary.
12. Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced, fresh food distribution environment.
13. Strong communication, leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
14. Familiarity with Singapore restaurant supply, food import, food safety or logistics operations will be an advantage.

Salary Range:
S$7,000.00 per month, depending on experience, qualifications and suitability.

Additional Information:
This is not a purely office-based management role. The candidate must be comfortable working closely with operations, warehouse, logistics, suppliers, and customers, including during night and early-morning operational periods.
