Technical Coordinator

Job Scope:
· Technical: Able to read and interpret drawingprovided for both Structural and Piping and prepare MTO
· Quality Planning: Develop and implement ProjectQuality Plans and Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) specific to steelfabrication.
· Documentation & Procedures: Review andapprove Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records(PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ/WQT).
· Compliance Management: Ensure all fabricationactivities comply with structural standards and local regulations.
· Record Control: Maintain material testcertificates (MTCs), traceability logs, and prepare final Manufacturing DataRecords (MDR) or Quality Dossiers.
· Audits & Training: Coordinate client orthird-party inspections (TPI) and conduct internal quality awareness trainingfor workshop staff.
· Estimation: Enquiry review, Quantity take-off,Material costing, Manhour estimate, negotiation and Variation orders. Studyclient enquiries, drawings, specifications and scope; identify exclusions,risks and missing information; raise clarification queries.
Responsibilities:
· Incoming Material Inspection: Check raw steelplates and sections for correct grade, dimensions, surface defects, and matchmill test certificates.
· Fit-up and Dimensional Checks: Inspect componentassembly, joint fit-up, squareness, and alignments using calibrated measuringtools before welding.
· In-Process & Weld Inspection: Monitorwelding parameters and perform visual inspections for surface defects,porosity, or undercut.
· Non-Destructive Testing (NDT): Coordinate andwitness NDT activities like ultrasonic testing (UT), magnetic particle testing(MT), or liquid penetrant testing (PT).
· Non-Conformance Control: Issue Non-ConformanceReports (NCR) for any defects found and supervise corrective and preventiveactions.
· Final Clearance & Marking: Verify /inspectfinal dimensions, and clear completed steel members for site delivery.
