Store Manager
Job Description
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the outlet, ensuring smooth service, consistent product quality, strong team performance and a positive customer experience.
As a premium matcha brand, Moss Matcha places strong emphasis on product knowledge, service standards, presentation and attention to detail. The Store Manager is expected to lead by example and maintain the brand’s operational and service standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the outlet, including opening, closing and shift management.
Lead, supervise and support the outlet team to ensure efficient and professional service.
Prepare staff schedules and arrange manpower according to operational requirements.
Train new and existing employees on product preparation, service standards, food safety and outlet procedures.
Ensure all drinks, desserts and other products are prepared consistently according to company recipes and SOPs.
Monitor product quality, presentation, cleanliness and overall customer experience.
Manage inventory levels, conduct stock counts and arrange timely replenishment of ingredients, packaging and operating supplies.
Minimise wastage and monitor the proper handling, storage and usage of ingredients.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, workplace safety and company requirements.
Handle customer enquiries, feedback and service recovery professionally.
Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, conduct and performance.
Support the implementation of promotions, new product launches and operational updates.
Maintain outlet equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
Prepare daily sales, stock, wastage, incident and operational reports as required.
Coordinate with the management team, central kitchen and other departments to ensure smooth outlet operations.
Support events, workshops, corporate orders and other brand activities when required.
Perform other operational and managerial duties assigned by the company.
Requirements
At least 2 years of experience in the food and beverage, café, retail or hospitality industry.
Previous supervisory or outlet management experience is strongly preferred.
Strong leadership, communication and team-management skills.
Responsible, organised and able to manage multiple operational priorities.
Customer-focused, with a professional and service-oriented attitude.
Able to maintain high standards of product quality, cleanliness and presentation.
Comfortable handling staff scheduling, inventory, reporting and daily administrative duties.
Able to resolve operational issues and customer concerns calmly and independently.
Willing to learn about matcha, tea preparation and Moss Matcha’s products and brand values.
Able to work shifts, weekends and public holidays according to operational requirements.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with POS, scheduling or inventory systems would be an advantage.
Food safety certification or relevant F&B qualifications would be an advantage.
Preferred Attributes
Hands-on and willing to support the team during busy service periods.
Detail-oriented, disciplined and consistent in following operational standards.
Able to motivate employees and build a positive, accountable working environment.
Interested in premium beverages, matcha, Japanese tea culture or specialty café concepts.
Able to communicate effectively in English; additional languages would be an advantage.
