Position Overview
Our client, an established company with business operations in Singapore and overseas, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join its Finance team.
This is a hands-on position covering financial accounting, reporting, compliance and finance operations. The successful candidate will work closely with management and other members of the Finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and effective financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare periodic financial and management reports and provide relevant financial information to management.
- Coordinate statutory, tax and regulatory reporting requirements and ensure timely submissions.
- Work with external auditors, tax agents, banks and other professional service providers.
- Monitor cash flow, banking activities and other treasury-related matters.
- Review balance sheet accounts, reconciliations and intercompany transactions.
- Support the development and improvement of finance processes, policies and internal controls.
- Manage month-end and year-end financial closing activities and ensure reporting deadlines are met.
- Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
- Provide accounting support and guidance to other members of the Finance team where required.
- Participate in finance-related projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification would be an advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience.
- Experience gained within a commercial environment; exposure to manufacturing would be advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of financial reporting, statutory compliance and accounting principles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good attention to detail.
- Hands-on, independent and able to work effectively in a team environment.
