We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive the growth and development of the Company’s beauty and skincare business by identifying new business opportunities, developing brand and product strategies, strengthening customer and business partnerships, and achieving sales and commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to grow the Company's beauty and skincare portfolio.
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, market trends, customer needs and potential distribution channels.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with skincare brands, suppliers, distributors, retailers and business partners.
- Manage and grow existing beauty and skincare brands while identifying opportunities for expansion.
- Support the sourcing, evaluation and onboarding of new skincare and beauty brands and products.
- Work closely with suppliers and brand principals on product positioning, pricing, distribution and promotional strategies.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and maintain competitiveness.
- Develop sales forecasts, business plans and commercial proposals for management review.
- Monitor sales performance, profitability and key business development KPIs and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Merchandising, Retail and E-Commerce teams to develop and execute product launches, campaigns and promotional activities.
- Provide product and market insights to support merchandising and marketing decisions.
- Monitor product performance and customer feedback and recommend improvements to product assortment and business strategies.
- Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, margins and other business arrangements with suppliers and business partners.
- Prepare regular business development, sales and market reports for Management.
- Keep abreast of developments and trends in skincare, cosmetics, beauty technology and consumer preferences.
- Ensure that products and business activities comply with relevant company policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead and support projects relating to new brand development, product launches and business expansion.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Requirements
- Degree in Cosmetic Science, Cosmetic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, Business, Marketing or a related discipline.
- Candidates with a relevant Cosmetic Science / Cosmetic Chemistry qualification will have an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in business development, brand management, product management or commercial roles within the skincare, cosmetics or beauty industry.
- Strong background and knowledge in skincare products and brands is essential.
- Good understanding of skincare ingredients, product formulation, product positioning and market trends.
- Experience working with skincare/beauty brands, distributors, retailers or suppliers is preferred.
- Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to identify and develop new business opportunities.
- Good negotiation, communication, presentation and relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to translate market insights into business opportunities.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Passionate about the beauty and skincare industry and keeps up to date with emerging products, trends and consumer preferences.
